(short) Anonymous Shinonome - nights when angels fall

this is my go-to album when im doing anything that has low stakes but still needs my mostly-undivided attention. the songs have a nearly-entrancing feel to them that, despite how it might sound on first listen, works well to have on in the background, atleast for me. i'll write more about it later but this is actively distracting me from the important stuff i should be doing right now

Joey Valence & Brae, JPEGMAFIA - WASSUP

this wouldve been a comment like The Avalanches - Since I Left You and Nirvana - Nevermind but its too long lol
logging onto spotify and seeing in bigass text "New release from JPEGMAFIA" and then "Joey Valence & Brae" was a bit surreal but its a very welcome feeling cuz i already really like and know both of these artists
WASSUP released today (june 13, 2025) sitting at almost 3 minutes on the dot, since its just a single. it's a good JVB song, but i thought it a bit disappointing that peggy didn't have a hand in the backing track. still very good though, i thought having brae saying "you think you know me" was really smart, announcing JPEGMAFIA's arrival in a way to both reference his producer tag and to break up the song to let listeners unaware of this to know something's changed
overall i like this track a lot, its going in the good song playlist

Flume, JPEGMAFIA - We Live In A Society

this isnt even an album its just an EP but i think Track 1 is very funny and i wanna say a bit about it (spooky ass clown pussy music)
We Live In A Society was released may 2nd, i listened to it day of but didnt get too much out of it other than the kind of comedy featured in Track 1

Track 1 was first shown on Flume's youtube channel on april 24th with an animation im watching right now as im typing this this is so fuckin weird lol really fitting for the insane noise that goes on in the track dude what the hell lmfao
but more generally i do like Track 1 for what flume tries to do throughout the track and how peggy salvages what hes getting; the ending 2 minutes with the "how its supposed to feel" stuff sound really good imo, feels like a payoff for going through the last four minutes. its also pretty interesting in the way of being a "reward", since it doesnt sound right without listening to the minute or so right before it, neither segment of the track would be as good without the other
Is It Real (feat. Ravyn Lenae) - my first listen to this song last week mustve been clouded by something taking up more of my attention, the first 30 seconds is very nice, setting up and prepping for the rest of the track pretty well. as usual i cant say much about the lyrics because im dense and rarely pay attention to them but the non-vocal part is very nice and i like it. im clearly not the right person to be reviewing music
AI Girlfriend - this song has potential but something about it just seems off, ive listened to more than the healthy intake of awful noise goreshit garbage but for some reason this song actually kinda hurts my ears, it feels like the main chorus is offbeat and shit its so weird
also for some reason on genius the cover art for this song is this fucking picture of a buff american with an anime head or some shit look at this https://files.catbox.moe/yq7w34.png
The Ocean Is Fake - eh, its not genuinely painful like ai girlfriend but its not something i'd really be interested in listening to a lot more. i wish i had more to say but its just okay its not really my thing

overall the album is alright, i might be relapsing from the turbo noisy shit like femtanyl and similar so theres a chance im not the target demographic anymore
i'd still recommend atleast listening to Track 1 because i think its funny and has a really good ending but beyond that im not upset to stop listening there

next thing i talk about will probably be either Quit!! or the mockingbird & THE CROW, both by HARDY, i really like both albums and they have unique qualities that make them stand out from anything else

cleopatrick - FAKE MOON post that i didnt finish

(this was written march 15th 2025)

im actually writing this in a notepad while all the f46n stuff is down, since the album released during the downtime
FAKE MOON is the most recent album by cleopatrick, released march 14th, 2025
i used to promise myself i would never listen to music like this, i wouldnt become a sad-like individual, but life tends to come at you fast and you gotta adapt somehow
a bit of a gripe i'm noticing out of the album is that the instrumentals are much more sad-tone than cleopatrick's other albums, most notably BUMMER, which was a lot more hard-rock inspired while still retaining that kind of mood; it seems a lot more accepting of the fate given than BUMMER

HEAT DEATH -
BAD GUY - still a wonderful track, this is the one i tend to listen to the most since i think i can connect with it better than most other tracks released as singles before the full album
HAMMER -
PLEASE -
SOFTDRIVE - a short instrumental, this seems like the type shit you could put on in the background just for a mild confidence boost, and lasts just long enough to fulfill a simple duty that might be benefitted by it
CHEW - i'm really bad at deciphering lyrics and understanding the writers are going for, which is why i tend to prefer either instrumental things or songs with "blunt" lyrics, any track i dont "get" wont have a thing
BIG MACHINE -
SARAH -
FAKE MOON -
LOVE YOU -

ai apologist

i like AI. i dont believe AI being capable of generating art is inherently a bad thing.

i don't blindly accept AI art as real art, because i believe AI is supposed to be an assistance tool, rather than the entire art process.

for the sake of getting my point across, i want to talk about the multi-point line tool present in most art programs.
the multi-point line tool is there to assist the user in doing something that they could feasibly do, but with a level of precision that the user can't be expected to get the exact way they want. sure, the multi-point tool can be used to create the entire piece, but it's mostly designed to assist with one thing.
personally, i use the multi-point tool as a referencing tool; i use it to get the vague shape and then draw over it. i believe that the tool on it's own in the middle of a piece is capable of detracting from it, since the use of the tool can appear too smooth depending on how it's used relative to the rest of the piece.
of course, i don't blindly hate the tool, it depends on how exactly it was used and if it was encorporated well into the piece.

i portray and use AI in a way very similar to this. for broad concepts i lack the exact skillset to properly manage, i use AI to get an idea of what can be done, and i use it as a reference; i don't directly use any concepts brought by the AI verbatim, instead i transform it into something that is undeniably my creation.

of course, this isn't how everybody behaves and views it, and since the topic has only become more divisive every year, people have lost touch with what AI was originally designed for, to be an assistant producer, not the entire production.

i understand completely that there are people out there that don't view AI in the same way i do, some make their whole pieces with lines, some swear vengeance against anyone who dare hover their cursor over the shapes section, and this isn't a pursuasive piece, i know my mediocre wordplay and middling charisma isn't enough to change any minds, i mostly just want to share what i think about the use of AI and i dont know how best to end this ヽ(≧□≦)ノ

femtanyl song tier list

an acquaintance made a femtanyl song tier list only a few hours after my post about NASTYWERKKKK so i did it
https://i.imgur.com/trsjyPC.png
not much to say about this really other than that i put ATTACKING VERTICAL low because i don't like the full version as much as i like a shorter "demo" version that femtanyl posted on twitter
and that PUPPYPLAY is so bad to me that i memory holed it and completely forgot about its existence (but i still think DOGMATICA is worse)

Femtanyl, ISSBROKIE - NASTYWERKKKK!

holy peak oh my god i listened to this track ONCE and i instantly knew it was easily in my top 2 for tracks femtanyl's dropped, very close or beating Worldwid3
whether that's due to the involvement of ISSBROKIE i've yet to determine as i haven't heard of them and by all means definitely will later because god damn if all of their stuff is like this femtanyl might just be dethroned in my eyes
the cover art is also really damn good, it feels like a perfect mixture of femtanyl's covers and ISSBROKIE's (i checked the covers for this bit), which wasnt exactly the case with some of her other collaborations, and alongside, its so damn cool to me, i really hope i can learn how to make pics like this eventually

an aside
i wasn't too jazzed initially about MIX. 02 - BOTHERED! but over time ive started warming up to it and its probably in my top 10 now, listening to it some more will probably bump it up higher but being better than half the discography is still pretty commendable
maybe sometime ill make a femtanyl song tier list, that could be pretty cool

back to nastywerkkkk
i had three "its peak" gifs here but they didnt work so ill write some more genuinely this is such a great fuckin song to me im extremely glad im lucky enough to have been graced with music of such unfathomable quality
