Where have I been? (¿Dónde he estado?)

Hey guys! I'm currently in one of my classes and I'm typing out this blog to kind of give a summary of why I haven't posted in a while. Basically, I have been focused a lot on Computer Science stuff and I haven't really had the time to post on here because of that. I also forgot this website exists. so that's why I haven't updated here. However, I have a lot of things to share.

1. The thing with "Charlie"

Me and "Charlie" have been talking a lot more. Towards the end of the last school year, my best friend would leave the room a lot because she didn’t want to be bored with us. So, me and Charlie would sit together at the table and just talk. On the last day of school, he said goodbye for the summer and told me that we’d talk in 2 months. We talk but not as much as I want to because we don’t share any classes or lunches together this year. However, I can tell he actually likes talking to me alot more now. Also, I listen to his Spotify playlists and when I told him, he was really happy and didn’t want me to leave until I told him what playlist it was

2. Python Certification (PCEP-30-02 and PCAP-31-03)

I took the PCEP-30-02 exam on April 29, 2024 and passed with an 84%. This means that I am now a Certified Entry Level Python Programmer. I am currently working on trying to take the PCAP-31-03 so that I can become a Certified Associate Level Python Programmer but the exam and study materials cost almost 400 dollars if you round so I need to wait a bit because we also have other things to pay at the moment like my braces. However, I told my mom and she said she wants to save some of the money we get from the rooms my uncle rents to get the money needed to pay for the next exam.

3. Braces

I got braces on March 18, 2024. It was really painful for about 2 weeks because my teeth were very crooked. During that time, I would have my mom bring me lunch but apparently having your parents bring you lunch is a safety hazard so if I had waited even longer to get braces, I probably wouldn’t have been able to eat at all because almost everything at my school is crunchy and the school throws away all food that is delivered for us as students. My birthday is in July and I need to wear braces for 16 months so I’m going to be wearing braces until I turn 18. After that, I’ll just be wearing retainers.

4. Other stuff

I took 3 AP tests (Macroeconomics, Precalculus, and Computer Science Principles) but I only passed Computer Science Principles with a 3 out of 5. I got a 1 in Macroeconomics and a 2 in Precalculus. I also went back to Mexico and saw a lot of cool stuff with my grandma, aunt, cousins, and my brother that live there. I also got a Macbook last year around November because of school reasons but I still have my windows laptop from the COVID days and I use both depending on what it’s for. I’m also working on getting certifications for the Microsoft Office Suite.
Overall, I have made a lot of progress and I hope I can keep doing even more. I’m going to finish the blog here but I’ll talk to you guys soon. Bye Bye!

Hola, chicos. Actualmente estoy en una de mis clases y estoy escribiendo este blog para dar un resumen de por qué no he publicado nada en un tiempo. Básicamente, me he centrado mucho en cosas de informática y no he tenido tiempo de publicar aquí por eso. También olvidé que este sitio web existe, así que es por eso que no he actualizado aquí. Sin embargo, tengo muchas cosas para compartir.

1. El asunto con "Charlie"

"Charlie" y yo hemos estado hablando mucho más. Hacia el final del último año escolar, mi mejor amiga salía mucho de la habitación porque no quería aburrirse con nosotros. Entonces, Charlie y yo nos sentábamos juntos en la mesa y simplemente hablábamos. El último día de clases, se despidió por el verano y me dijo que hablaríamos en 2 meses. Hablamos, pero no tanto como yo quiero porque no compartimos ninguna clase ni almuerzos juntos este año. Sin embargo, puedo decir que en realidad le gusta hablar conmigo mucho más ahora. Además, escucho sus listas de reproducción de Spotify y cuando se lo dije, se puso muy feliz y no quería que me fuera hasta que le dijera qué lista de reproducción era

2. Certificación Python (PCEP-30-02 y PCAP-31-03)

Tomé el examen PCEP-30-02 el 29 de abril de 2024 y lo aprobé con un 84 %. Esto significa que ahora soy un programador Python certificado de nivel inicial. Actualmente estoy tratando de tomar el PCAP-31-03 para poder convertirme en un programador Python certificado de nivel asociado, pero el examen y los materiales de estudio cuestan casi 400 dólares si redondeas, así que necesito esperar un poco porque también tenemos otras cosas que pagar en este momento, como mis aparatos ortopédicos. Sin embargo, se lo dije a mi mamá y ella dijo que quiere ahorrar algo del dinero que obtenemos de las habitaciones que alquila mi tío para obtener el dinero necesario para pagar el próximo examen.

3. Brackets

Me pusieron brackets el 18 de marzo de 2024. Me dolió mucho durante unas 2 semanas porque tenía los dientes muy torcidos. Durante ese tiempo, le pedía a mi mamá que me trajera el almuerzo, pero aparentemente que tus padres te traigan el almuerzo es un peligro para la seguridad, así que si hubiera esperado aún más para ponerme brackets, probablemente no hubiera podido comer nada porque casi todo en mi escuela es crujiente y la escuela tira toda la comida que nos entregan como estudiantes. Mi cumpleaños es en julio y necesito usar brackets durante 16 meses, así que los usaré hasta que cumpla los 18 años. Después de eso, solo usaré retenedores.

4. Otras cosas

Hice 3 exámenes AP (Macroeconomía, Precálculo y Principios de Ciencias de la Computación), pero solo aprobé Principios de Ciencias de la Computación con un 3 de 5. Obtuve un 1 en Macroeconomía y un 2 en Precálculo. También volví a México y vi muchas cosas interesantes con mi abuela, mi tía, mis primos y mi hermano que viven allí. También me compré una MacBook el año pasado en noviembre por motivos escolares, pero todavía tengo mi computadora portátil con Windows de la época de COVID y uso ambas según para qué sea. También estoy trabajando para obtener certificaciones para el paquete de Microsoft Office.
En general, he avanzado mucho y espero poder seguir haciendo aún más. Voy a terminar el blog aquí, pero les hablaré pronto. ¡Adiós!
