I'm 18 now and I want to open a CD

Yesterday I had a birthday party because I turned 18 today. It was a lot of fun even if Tupac was the only person I invited that actually showed up. Today I started thinking about a list of things that I want to do now that I'm 18 and one of those things is opening up a CD (Certificate of Deposit). Some of you might not know this but I actually have money saved in my bank account and I'm conscious about how I've gotten very little in dividends over these last 2 years despite having an amount that I believe deserves more in earnings. I talked about it with my dad and he's in agreement with me. My mom was confused because she doesn't know a lot about money but supports anyways. I don't really have much to say so I'll end it here.
